Study on the structure optimization and anti‐hepatitis B virus activity of novel human La protein inhibitor HBSC11
Abstract In our previous study, HBSC11 (Methyl pyrazolo[1,5‐a] pyridine‐2‐carboxylate) was shown to combine with La protein, which conferred anti‐hepatitis B virus (HBV) effects. The purpose of this study was to optimize, synthesize, and evaluate the anti‐HBV activity of HBSC11. The methyl group of HBSC11 was substituted with hydrophobic, hydrophilic and tricyclic groups to generate novel HBV inhibitors with desirable potency. On in vitro evaluation, several derivatives exhibited good anti‐HBV activity...

Molecular epidemiology of group A rotavirus in outpatient diarrhea infants and children in Chongqing, China, 2011‐2015
Abstract Human group A rotavirus (RVA) is the leading cause of acute viral gastroenteritis in children under 5 years old worldwide. The aim of this study was to investigate the genotype distribution of RVA in the Midwest of China. Sentinel‐based surveillance of acute diarrhea was conducted at Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University from 2011 to 2015. Group A rotavirus (RVA) was tested by using enzyme‐linked immunosorbent assays. The partial VP4 genes and VP7 genes of rotavirus were amplified...

Pathological and molecular studies on Coxsackie virus A‐16 (CVA‐16) isolated from Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD) cases in India: Approach using Neonatal mouse model
Abstract The present study highlights pathogenesis and molecular aspects of CVA‐16 strains isolated from HFMD cases from India using a neonatal mice model. ICR mice were intraperitoneally inoculated with CVA‐16/311 strain isolated from HFMD cases. Mice developed hind and fore limb paralysis on day 3 of post infection. Histopathological observations of hind limb muscles showed necrosis, dissolution of muscle fiber cells, infiltration of inflammatory cells, marked dilated ventricle, hemorrhages and...
